Meeting was called to order by Anita Singleton, president, at 6 p.m., July 15, 2004, at the MSSU Biology Pond.
The first item on the agenda was approval of past minutes. These were sent out with meeting announcements. They were approved as written.
Old Business:
The Website Committee approved going with Intuious at Fast Freedom represented by Lynn Merideth for the discounted price of $1200. They have been given group information to start in the designing of the website with the hopes of being able to announce an unveiling or launching of this project soon.
The Spring Seminar Committee is still being formed and requesting volunteers interested in its planning. Steve Evans, chair; Joyce Clement and Luanna Evans, current volunteers.
New Business:
Frank Tisdale was elected as AANP State representative from Missouri. This is a two-year office. Our region seven includes five states. There was a large showing from Missouri at the National conference from our local group.
There are 66 AANP member groups in the United States; we are the only one from Missouri.
Issues of political interest are those of Collaborative Practice and Controlled Substance Legislation. Calls for writing representatives may be forthcoming. The next annual AANP conference is slated for June 2005 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The topic for the October meeting — Meet the Candidates — will be held the third Thursday in October, site to be announced.
