Officers meeting was held January 5th.

The 4 State APN chapter met on Thursday January 17, 2008 at Red, Hot and Blue, Joplin,Mo. Loana Evans, President opened the meeting to order.

In old business plans are being finalized for the upcoming spring conference to be held Saturday March 1 2008 at the Freeman Business Center conference room. Topics for the conference include breast cancer, insomnia, hepatitis C, COPD, PAD and HPV. We would like to encourage all to attend and inform other advance practice nurses of the seminar for a good attendance. With regrets the officers accepted a resignation from Susan Pumphrey in her position as Treasurer.

In new business nominations of new officers were taken and a vote by members. Officers for the term beginning April 1, 2008 are: President-Nancy Willis-Smith, Vice-President-Frank Tisdale, Treasurer-Melinda Hoover and Secretary-Molly Shifferd.

It was discussed regarding a change from thursday evening for our quarterly business meetings, after some discussion it was tabled until the Spring conference for more input from those attending. It was also noted it would need to be changed in our by-laws when the change occurred.

Kip Davis reported on Senate Bill 724 and House Bill 1620 in current legislature. It is advised to go to the mo.gov website for more information and write and call our legislature regarding these bills.

Dr. Simonelli from St.Paul, Minnesota spoke on Osteoporsis.
